These Chaplets are designed to offer the recommend prayers of Our Lady of Medjugorje for purgatory souls and for world peace.

These chaplets are designed and based on two messages given to the Medjugorje seers by the Virgin Mary during two apparitions. In these messages Our Lady recommended seven Our Father's, seven Hail Mary's, seven Glory Be's and The Apostles Creed to obtain peace for the world and to free souls from purgatory.

The Original POW Chaplet (also used for Peace Chaplet) is the official "Purgatory Oblation Warrior Prayer Chaplet" offered exclusively by Medjugorje USA's "POW International Internet Prayer Group Apostolate." We are the largest organized Purgatory Prayer Group in the world with over 4600 members worldwide. POW Chaplets are made exclusively by POW Prayer Group founder and webmaster of the Medjugorje USA website.

The original chaplet includes multi-faceted dark sapphire 8mm beads with three 8mm multi-faceted red ruby beads. The ruby beads are in remembrance of the Holy Trinity and the Blood of Christ poured out for sinners. The blue bead represent the blue eyes of Our Lady as seen by the Medjugorje seers, during apparitions, (see "Detailed Information about the POW Chaplet" below for more info about this chaplet.) The chaplets also come with flat crucifix with silver plate finish. Each package also comes with a POW instructional and information pamphlet. Some packets come with added gifts such as a rosary case, image of Our Lady of Medjugorje, or Our Lady of Medjugorje medal. The POW Pamphlet includes the chaplet prayer, instructions how to use the chaplet and the history of the "POW International Internet Prayer Group Apostolate." HISTORY OF THE PURGATORY OBLATION WARRIOR PRAYER GROUP

In June of 2001 Medjugorje USA started an online prayer group called the "POW" prayer group whose mission is to pray for poor souls in Purgatory. POW Stands for Purgatory Oblation Warrior. The idea of the prayer group is based on Our Lady of Medjugorje Message on July 21, 1982.

"Concerning Purgatory: There are many souls in Purgatory. There are also persons who have been consecrated to God - some Priests and Religious. Pray for their intentions, at least the Lord's Prayer, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be seven times each and the Creed. I recommend it to you. There is a large number of souls who have been in Purgatory for a long time because no one prays for them."  (Same prayer are used for the peace chaplet as recommended by Our Lady)

As the owner/webmaster of Medjugorje USA and founder of the POW Prayer Group, I can not find the words to explain how important it is that we pray for the poor souls in Purgatory who cannot pray for themselves. I am completely dedicated to this mission, as I hope all members are. Because the souls in Purgatory are no longer alive in the flesh, their only hope is that we here on earth will pray for them. The practice of praying for souls in Purgatory has long been forgotten, today few Catholic's pray for them. What most of us have forgotten is that when souls prayed for are released from Purgatory they go directly before the throne of God where they pray for the souls on earth who prayed for them. This is a great blessing for Purgatory souls and us on earth.

We also highly recommend offering the chaplet on Christmas and Easter day. On Christmas more souls are freed from Purgatory than any other day and Easter is the second day where the largest number of souls are freed from Purgatory.

DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE POW CHAPLET

The "Original" chaplet consists of a Crucifix on which is prayed the "Creed" Our Lady's favorite Prayer. The Crucifix and "Creed" on the POW chaplet stands as a reminder that we are all one in unity. There are three sets of beads on the chaplet which stands for the Holy Trinity. On the first set of beads we say 7 Our Father's, on the second set we say 7 Hail Mary's and on the third set we say 7 Glory Be's. There are three red beads on the Chaplet located on the seventh prayer of each set; this is to remind us that in the end it is the blood of Christ shed for the forgiveness of sins that sets us free and the 3 red beads also represents the graces of the Holy Trinity through the blood shed. There are 7 beads to each set, the number 777 is said to be the number of perfection according to Scripture. It is through the sacrifice of the Blood of the Lamb, (Jesus Christ) that we who believe may enter the Kingdom of God. However, upon death not all souls have reached the perfection of forgiveness, so these must hope that we on earth will pray for them. When a soul is released from Purgatory that souls prays before the throne of God for the souls on earth that prayed for them. Lastly, Our Lady of Medjugorje appears wearing a blue Mantle, and the visionaries say she has beautiful blue eyes so the remaining beads on the chaplet are sapphire blue.

 NOTES

Certainly Medjugorje USA would like to make the chaplet and give them away free but this is just not realistic. We tried this in the past and it was very time consuming and expensive. Remember you can pray these prayers using your fingers but I found that I loose count as have other members. The POW Chaplet does solve this problem. We offer option to choose from trying to make the chaplet affordable to those who would like a chaplet and for those who are able to afford more.
