Important Shipping Information Outside the U.S. (Region 1)

The below may apply to an occasional order places within the U.S. if the weight of your package exceeds the current shipping scale. This is due to postal increases in U.S. January 1. 2006.
Shipping charges online are based on scale and not on individual weight of each item. Medjugorje USA’s Gift Shop is based on a U.S. region 1 scale. This means our shipping charges are based primarily on orders from U.S. region 1. In the past we have always shipped abroad based on the same region but this has become very difficult as it has for all online gift shops. January 1, 2006 the U.S. Postal System raised the cost of shipping making it even more difficult for us to ship outside of region 1. Medjugorje USA’s Gift Shop has done all we can to keep the shipping charges down but orders now shipped abroad may be subject to addition shipping charges after your purchase if your order has a greater weight than the current region 1 shipping scales we must carry for our primary customer base in the U.S.
Recently someone ordered two books from the United Kingdom the shipping charged was $6.95. The books were quite heavy and our shipping charge to the UK was $17.95 standard mail without any guarantee the package would arrive. Plus when shipping abroad we always purchase proof that package has been shipped which is an additional .95. When we figured the cost and shipping for these book from our wholesaler adding the $17.95 shipping cost and .95 proof of shipment and the cost for shipping materials etc. we discovered we were in fact losing a considerable amount of money to ship this package. We have been taking losses for such a long time now we regret we just can’t continue. We will still ship abroad but there may be an addition shipping charge.
If you live abroad and order from Medjugorje USA Gift Shop you may receive an email from us for additional shipping depending on the weight of your order. We are deeply sorry but this is beyond our control. If you receive such an email you will be directed to this page and asked to purchase one of the shipping charges below. We are only carrying a few added shipping charges so if your order is very large and heavy the shipping charges below will not be adequate. In such a case we will weigh your package and inform you of the shipping amount directing you to a page of larger shipping amounts. As always you have the right to decline the order due to the increased shipping charges. In such a case simply notify us and we will return the full amount of your order back to your credit card. You will receive a notice from the credit card service that your card has been credited.
