Testimonies & Conversion Stories

"Testimony of Kathleen Sardina"

Your website has brought inner peace and warmth in my life. I have had personal trials and sorrows beyond what I ever thought I would experience in my life. All of these difficult life experiences started to occur about ten years ago after I began to go back to Church and daily recitation of the rosary. Through it all, I placed my trust in the Blessed Mother and asked her to help and protect us through her Son. It took almost 10 years, but in God's time he has brought us emotional peace and moved the "mountains" in our life. Everyday I still thank God for the wonderful chances he has given us again. Through it all I hope I have become a better and more compassionate person and I do not take my blessings for granted any more. I have been touched with what I believe was "Divine Intervention" when my son at the age of 21 was diagnosed with 98% chance of having prostate cancer by a team of top urologists. Before he went to surgery, I pinned a "first class relic of St. Teresa The Little Flower" on his hospital gown. Since the doctor was Catholic, he allowed the relic to remain on my son's hospital gown throughout the surgery. I was in the waiting room when the Doctor phoned me from the operating room and said, "I do not know how to tell you this, but for a lack of a better term, we took out an inflamed thing. But, it is not cancer!" Before the surgery, the doctor was preparing us emotionally for chemotherapy treatments and/or further invasive surgery.

During our 40 years of marriage, we have experienced some times of unemployment, financial insecurity, loss of businesses, illnesses, loss of a home through a disaster and our credit almost virtually ruined. We refused to file bankruptcy and continued to pay our creditors. I prayed the rosary and the Chaplets of Mercy. At night, it helped me to sleep and I asked the Blessed Mother to please emplore her Son to help us. I could not get through this by myself. If it was His Will for me to suffer these things, then He had to help me out. My husband and I continued to go to Church even though we were both depressed, confused and sometimes angry.

Well, the mountains got moved! Our credit got restored, I have my own home again and my husband has been employed with a wonderful company. I know God had something to do with my husband's employment, as he was hired at" 57 years old." With five children and ten grandchildren, we still experience trials and tribulations, but I never really feel alone. I just keep praying the rosary.

My hope now is I have the opportunity to go to Medjugoria in the near future. I have met and heard Ivan at our church and want to experience the beauty and grace of Medjugoria. I hope this will be in God's plan for me too.

Again, thank you for your web site. It keeps me appraised of the events occurring, allows me to go to the Prayer Room and most of all, I love reading about the Blessed Mother and her messages. She has always had a special place in my heart since I was a little girl. I just had to share this with someone. I hope my story helped someone else to keep praying the rosary. Pray, Pray and Pray some more. God is listening.

Thank you
Kathleen
