Special Apostolic Visitor to Medjugorje, Archbishop Henryk Hoser, appointed by Pope Francis, announced an expansion of the famous well known Shrine of Medjugorje.

In an interview for Vecernji.hr, Hoser stated, “An important argument in favor of Medjugorje is the statistics of Medjugorje itself. We see the number of pilgrims increasing, and not only that pilgrims come from all over the world, but, after their return home, they do everything to keep on living in the spirit they have discovered here in Medjugorje. It seems to me that there are more people in the world who know where Medjugorje is located than for the capital of BiH.

 Archbishop added that a group of architects are already preparing the project.

“The plan is to extend the space for liturgical celebrations, which will meet all the climatic conditions, it will be  cold during summer, and warm in the winter. The open square, the outer altar space, do not protect the people who participate in the liturgical celebrations. We still think to build a chapel, “

The findings of the 4^th Medjugorje Commission released in April 5, 2017, believe at least the first several Medjugorje apparitions are worth to be considered  supernatural events. The findings of the Commission prompted Pope Francis to send a special envoy to Medjugorje beginning February 11, 2017.  Archbishop Henryk Hoser of Poland was selected for the task, which lasted a year.  This would in return lead to a indefinite appointment in Medjugorje of Hoser on May 31, 2018.  At that time, Hosers title was announced as Special Apostolic Visitor to Medjugorje. On September 20, 1018 Archbishop Hoser announced an expansion of the good work of Medjugorje.
