King
of Kings Jeffery Hunter's sensitive portrayal of Jesus, and Miklos
Rosza's haunting and unforgettable music are the reason this movie makes our
list. Though some movie critics though it fell short of what it could of been,
Medjugorje disagrees and finds it one of the better sharings of Jesus' life on
earth. Hunter has piercing blue eyes that seem to go right through you in this
role. Trivia time. After filming King of Kings shortly afterwards Hunter filmed
a 2 hour episode for a new and different television series called "Star Trek."
Hunter was to play Captain Pike, opposite Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy.)
Creator Gene Rodenberry's pilot "The Cage" was scrubbed when Jeffery Hunter
suddenly passed away from a brain aneurism. William Shanter was quickly added to
the cast as Captain Kirk and the first airing of Star Trek went down in history
as a 1 hour pilot. Later Rodenberry found a way to use footage from "The Cage"
for the TV series. Some years later the original 2 hour pilot was released to
the public in VHS format. Captain Pike's love interest was played by actress
Susan Oliver who was enchantingly captivating. On a scales of 1 to 7
angels, Medjugorje USA gives this movie a rating of
5
