Medjugorje Testimony of Jo Ann

Hello, my name is Jo Ann Rangel I have been blessed to go on a prigrimage to Medjugorje 3 times. In 1990, 1991, and 2000. 1990 was an earth shaking experience for me. And 1991 was a growing experience.  2000 was my grace filled one.  I have recently wrote my story about my Guardian Angel.  And I would like to share it with you. Although I am not a writer this is the best I could hope for.

This is a story of how my guardian angel gave me a sign through a flower and how that sign continues on even today. It all started in the spring of 1990 while going on a Pilgrimage to a little communist village of about 500 people. The village is called Medjugoria, meaning between the mountains.  It is situated in what use to be called Yugoslavia, now called Bosnia.  It was reported that 6 young people were having visions of The Blessed Virgin Mary, and receiving messages for the whole world through these 6 young visionaries. This caught my interest and I decided to go there with three of my sisters, a handful of friends, and soon to be friends. It seems so long ago yet I still love to tell my story and the awesome events that followed.

While we were on this pilgrimage we met many people from other parts of the world. One particular young man from the Philippines told us that we should name our guardian angels and ask for a sign to see if our angel approves.  I took this to heart and when I came home that spring after the two week pilgrimage I continued thinking of a name for my guardian angel.  I remember being outside and looking at my flower garden; for some reason I was especially drawn to the Iris’s that were in bloom.  The Iris’s had been a regular flower in my garden for the last 17 years that I had lived in my home.  Every spring they were always the same height and the same color, a deep maroon.  Suddenly, I realized that I was having an insight as to what I should name my angel. It would be “Iris.” What happened next was unbelievable to me!  Within a few days a chute from the Iris’s grew taller than all the rest and blossomed a lavender Iris. This was my sign! My guardian angel’s name is Iris!

The following year my sister and I decided to go on the same pilgrimage to the same place, and in the spring again, with some old and new friends.  When we first arrived at the village some of the new people wanted to walk around and look things over. They had heavy backpacks; I offered to keep their bags with me as I was going to sit for a while.  They left and as I was deep in thought I told my guardian angel “Iris if you are with me, give me a sign.”  No sooner the owners of the backpacks returned.  They had thought it was so nice that I watch over their things that they gave me a gift.  It was lavender colored Iris that they had picked from a field nearby. I knew my angel Iris was with me and had given me a sign!  They knew nothing of my angel’s name. This was a surprise to them also.

A few years later, I was leafing though a dictionary I noticed a picture of an Iris and it caught my attention. I stopped on that page to investigate further and read the meaning of Iris, which is flower, but also means MESSENGER TO GOD. How perfect!

I have had numerous instances through out the years.  The same year I named my angel, Hallmark Card and Gift Store came out with an angel named Iris, dressed in a lavender color gown.  Was this a coincidence?  I have asked for help from my angel Iris many times. For instance while shopping for furniture, a cover throw with lavender colored Iris’s caught my attention on a certain sofa and loveseat.  I liked it and purchase the set. It was a very good choice.  I ask myself, was this a coincidence?  And when I am having a stressful day, or feeling insecure about something, out of nowhere I will see a Lavender Iris flower in a magazine or a picture etc… as a reminder that my guardian angel is not far from me and wants to help. The timing is always so perfect, and is very comforting to me.  I ask myself, is this a coincidence?  Well, as for me, it can’t be… because, I do not believe in coincidences.

Well, thats it!

I hope to hear back from you soon.

God Bless you and give you His perfect love and peace.
