Over all, the article is interesting as it deals with Medjugorje and also other Marian apparitions, but the article is not without some mistakes. We offer one mistake here; In the beginning of the article the author claims the 6 Medjugorje visionaries are shepherds, prior to the apparition. This claim is just not true. The Medjugorje seers in fact lived in a region know for growing tobacco and grapes for wine. The shepherd children were in fact 3 and not 6 and the apparitions of the shepherd children took place in Fatima, Portugal in 1917 and not in Medjugorje in 1981.  Even so, the National Geographic's article on Mary (Our Lady) is still well worth the read, despite some mistakes.
