Footage included Apparition Hill, Cross Mountain, Saint James Church, the oozing Christ statue, visionary Vicka and interviews with visionaries Mirjana and Ivan.

Touching briefly on other apparitions such as Lourdes and Fatima, Medjugorje was nicely woven into the fabric of holy and miraculous places on earth.

Medjugorje USA sources said the program on Dateline would be an hour long. I was reluctant to believe NBC would air a full hour on one religious event. I thought this because when secular media sources dig deeply into religious matters it results in friction between different religious fractions. Dateline went beyond these safe limitations almost offering and official endorsement of the Medjugorje apparitions.

Since the mid 1980's I have personally viewed close to 100 segments on Medjugorje from newspapers, videos, DVDs and television shows. Dateline's piece on May 18, is one of the best secular sources of positive information on Medjugorje I have ever seen. I applaud Dateline for a great job done.
