Interview With Author Michael H. Brown
By Michael K. Jones

1) Q: Many of us have a conversion story and I know these stories can be quite long, could you give a brief account of the event that changed your life?

A: I was writing a book about the Mafia when I began to experience the real attack, the presence, of demons. I began to pray and soon experienced dreams and a couple visions, one of the Archangel Michael, one of the Virgin, another of St. Joseph. It was a series of events in 1982 and 1983.

2) Q: Could you tell us a little about the religious event, which has had the most impact on your life?

A: I think the religious event that had the most impact on my life was a visit in 1990 to Medjugorje -- that and a visit to the vault where they keep the Shroud of Turin.

3) Q: As a well known published author are there a few books you would highly recommend to Medjugorje USA's visitors as a must read?

A: Right now the book that's most popular is After Life, which is about heaven, hell, and purgatory. I get the most reaction from a book called Prayer of the Warrior, about my own struggles with evil, and also The Final Hour. Soon we'll be releasing a new major book.

4) Q: In your book, "The Final Hour," you write about many different apparitions taking place around the world. Is there any one particular apparition you feel is closest to your heart?

A: Medjugorje. I think Lourdes and Medjugorje are the most powerful situations I have experienced.

5) Q: What is your overall opinion of the apparitions taking place in Medjugorje?

A: If Medjugorje holds up, it will be one of the three or four biggest apparitions in 2,000 years. It might even turn out to be the biggest.

6) Q: Many people think that Medjugorje is an extension of Fatima, any thoughts on this?

A: The Pope says Medjugorje is a fulfillment of Fatima, and I believe that because I think the secrets of Fatima may be all fulfilled, played out, and that we come now to the secrets of Medjugorje-- which began in June 1981, shortly after the Pope was shot, which was foreseen in the third secret.

7) Q: Though the Church does not approve the visitations of the Virgin Mary in Garabandal, do you find any connection between Garabandal and Medjugorje?

A: There is of course the stony hillside in both places, the rough path to where Mary allegedly appeared, the aspect of more than one seer, the idea of a sequence of events that includes warnings and chastisements. But I am still trying to figure out what exactly transpired at Garabandal, and I am obedient to the rulings of the Church.

8) Q: We have heard a lot about the parchment given to Mirjana by Our Lady, could you tell us what if anything that you know about the parchment?

A: That parchment is certainly intriguing. Mirjana said in 1985 that "actually this is not paper but some sort of unusual material. (The Virgin) gave me instructions how to handle it and what to do with it. She also told me to choose a priest, because the day is approaching when I will have to give this paper to the priest, on time. I will have to give it to him ten days in advance, so that he too will have enough time to prepare himself for this. She will give him the grace to be able to see the first secret. You see, if anyone else were to look at this paper they would see something entirely different on it. But he will receive her grace which will enable him to read the first secret." This was from an interview with Father Petar Ljubicic. We carried it on our website.

9) Q: Recently there has been some talk about the first secret of Medjugorje. I have also noted a recent posting on your website, www.spiritdaily.com, which suggests that many visionaries around the world feel that unusual occurrences are soon to take place. Do you feel a sense of urgency based upon these postings? If so, what can we do to prepare ourselves for the coming events?

A: I think we are entering a time of natural and military upheaval and that the extent of it depends on the extent of purgation necessary to take us to what the Virgin describes as a new "spring." Spring is a time when the storms come but are followed by grass and flowers and verdancy. The question is how severe the "storms" will be.

10) Q: While visiting recent apparitions sites many pilgrims claim witnessing miraculous events. Some say they have even taking photos, which have images. When the world hears about such things some say, it a miracle, other say, it is hysteria, still others say, it is sensationalism. There seems there is a fine line between the three. How can we determine the difference between the three points of view?

A: By their fruits. If a photo has no fruits, and especially if it does not provoke one to peace, holiness, and prayer, I would question it.

11) Q: Due to political reason the Medjugorje Commission has disbanded, do you think the Church will establish a new Commission in the future?

A: I think there will be a reconsideration of Medjugorje after John Paul II leaves, and I do confess concerns about this. There are many who try to cast negatives on Medjugorje. To prevent condemnation we must make sure the place is kept pure. It's important that records of medical cures are kept; this more than anything will prevent condemnation.

12) Q: What exactly would it take for a new Commission to be established to investigate the apparitions in Medjugorje?

A: I think a new Pope. The current Pope seems content to let it remain as is, which may be the wisest course until the prophecies are discerned. For example, there is the concept of chastisement, but recently also talk of the new "springtime." Some may have trouble reconciling the two concepts.

13) Q: Do you have any general knowledge of the previous Medjugorje Commission's opinions of the visitations of Our Lady in Medjugorje. If so can you share any general knowledge?

A: There was positive and negative -- those who believed going in and coming away and others who simply didn't want much to do with it. It has always amazed me: that among the most resistant to Medjugorje would be clergy.

14) Q: The apparitions in Betania, have been approved by the Church as supernatural, does Maria Esperanza still receive visitations from Heaven and does she still display bio-location and suffer stigmata? What would you say the overall message is given in this approved apparition?

A: Maria is fascinating and does still experience the full array of mystical gifts, truly awesome stuff. Is it 100 percent? No prophecy is perfect (says the Bible), but this is one gifted woman who brings great joy -- and that's the best standard of discernment.

15) Q: Having written about many apparitions around the world do you find a general message that seems to repeat itself?

A: There is the general message that we have fallen into darkness and must climb out or face purification. We must turn away from scientism and return to God.

16) Q: What do you think is the best thing we can do to change ourselves leading us to a closer Spiritual life?

A: Pray AND fast. Fasting brings us above the flesh and in greater heavenly union!

17) Q: They say the Rosary has great mystical powers, do you agree and why?

A: Very much so. Christ gave His mother special power and she is allowed to dispense it through the Rosary. You can feel the grace. You can feel the protection.

18) Q: This is a two-part question. You have co-authored a book called "Witness," with Russian prophet Jospy Terelya, you mention in this book that you can not prove the actual events did in fact take place, however do you have some insight which you could add about this Russian prophet?

It has been brought to my attention that one of Mr. Terelya's prophecies is as followed, "A person will appear called Vladimir. He will call on Russia to destroy Israel." This prophecy comes from a 1980's information source.

On December 31, 1999, Russian President Boris Yeltsin stepped down from the presidency. Yeltsin has appointed Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as President.

What do you think about this?

A: I think Josyp is a true mystic, and I repeat about prophecy that it must be discerned. He has been very right. I have seen him say some amazingly accurate things. Is he wrong at times? Any prophet is human. So I don't know what will happen with Israel -- something will -- but I do know that Josyp's greatest message is his faith, strength, and courage, which are overwhelming.

19) Q: What is your hope for this world?

A: That it will find its way back to God and treat the world as a place of testing and exile -- not as the end point.

20) Q: Are you currently working on a new book and if so could you tell Medjugorje USA's visitors a little about your current project?

A: The book we're about to release, SENT TO EARTH, is about how nature is acting up and what may be about to occur!
